It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of NEOM Organics. I have talked about their products for months now on youtube and on here, and I know that a lot of their stuff has made its way onto lots of other channels and blogs. When a brand does the rounds with bloggers, sometimes it’s easy to think that people are only being nice because they were sent something. I get it. I watch youtube and read blogs as well as making content and I can be just as skeptical as the next person when I see a brand splashed everywhere and hyped up. Sometimes it is justified and sometimes, when the hype dies down, the products don’t stick around. Where NEOM is concerned, for me I am happy to have found such a wonderful company through blogging and I get excited with every new thing I try from them. I first tried one of their body oils and when it was on it’s way I was looking forward to trying it, but didn’t hold any expectations beyond the usual optimism I try every new item with. After being wowed I feel like a kid on Christmas morning every time I try a new product from them and that doesn’t happen often with brands for me. Everything about the company, from the packaging, the products and the general feel of the brand is spot on for me. I read this excellent article by Nicola Elliot who founded NEOM, talking about her reasons for starting the brand and what it’s all about and I loved the products even more. Really worth a read.
Enough of my waxing lyrical (waxing, see what I did there?) and on to the candle I want to talk about. Let’s just get one thing out there, NEOM candles are not cheap. At £37.50 they are luxury items and honestly, that isn’t an amount I would normally pay for a candle without having tried it first, but hear me out. Unlike other brands, they are 100% natural and organic, made with only vegetable wax and pure essential oils rather than synthetic fragrances. They have a burn time of around 55 hours which means they burn 30% longer than a regular candle of the same size and have three wicks which allows the candle to burn evenly, meaning you can actually use the whole candle rather than having the annoying experience of the wick burning out and being left with a whole lot of wax you can’t do anything with. Ideally you need to leave these to burn for at least two hours so the candle gets nice and even, in the photos above the wicks had only been lit for about 40 minutes but after an hour and a half the top melted layer is completely even. Because the fragrance is all essential oil, the scent throw is really good, filling the room with a beautiful aroma and giving you a relaxing essential oil treatment as you breathe it in.
That leads me on to the name, Happiness. This is the spring/summer uplifting scent and is also a treatment candle since as I mentioned, you breathe the aroma of the essential oils rather than some synthetic fragrance that could be filled with toxins. These aren’t cheap, quick candles that can be thrown away as easy as they are purchased, but beautiful, hand poured, room-filling candles made from excellent ingredients. If you are new to NEOM or are just skeptical about spending so much on a brand you haven’t really tried, they also make travel candles that are priced at a more wallet friendly £13 and have one wick instead of three. I have one of these in my bathroom and they have the same quality and attention to detail you’d expect from the larger ones.
