Last night I hotfooted it over to the RMK counter in Selfridges, Exchange Square for an evening with RMK and the Joliebox team. As you guys know from this post, RMK had a product in the May box (their primer, which is excellent) and the evening was designed to give us more of an insight into the brand and also to unveil the newest Joliebox, their anniversary one.
I am already a fan of RMK but my knowledge of the brand was limited to shadows, lip products and the primers I had tried so I was excited to find out more especially about their foundations and concealers, always my favourite items to try! I had the creamy foundation and concealer palette used on me by their Regional Makeup Artist for the UK, Ernesto Lobera (photo above) and I loved the finish, as well as his soft technique for applying blush. I did tell him I’d follow him anywhere so that he could do my makeup every day, and he laughed, but Ernesto, if you’re reading this I meant it! haha, maybe I need to just work on my own heavy-handed blush application!
We also met the lovely Thérèse and Sam from Joliebox who were really accommodating and also encouraged us to be really open and honest about how we thought the box could be better. They also unveiled the latest box which as you can see from the photos, looks amazing! They teamed up with two amazing designers to create limited edition box designs, one girly and one, as Thérèse put it, that was very Hermès! The special thing this month is that certain items in the box will be tailored to skin types, normal-oily and normal-dry which I think will please a lot of people. I can reveal the contents on Monday but let’s just say if you love French brands you are in for a treat.
Thanks to the team from RMK and Joliebox for a lovely evening, it was nice to stay in Manchester for a change instead of always having to go to London! The other ladies photographed here are Caroline, Nicola and Jade.
