ILLAMASQUA I’MPERFECTION
Another day, another new launch! During busy beauty periods, it can sometimes feel like everything blends into one, but one brand who never fail to catch your attention is Illamasqua. For me they are the perfect blend of artistic expression and great quality. I know their bold hues can intimidate some, but look beneath their striking campaign images and there’s a plethora of high quality products that can easily become everyday staples.
The i’mperfection collection embodies the beauty that lies in our insecurities. Freckles that are usually covered up or airbrushed away are exposed and we are encouraged to work with our features, not against them. Personally, I love it when my skin gets a bit freckled in the summer, and the speckled polishes that form part of this collection are really appealing to me. As you can see from the photo, I had my cheeks and eyes done by Alex Box at the launch, how cool is the speckled eyeliner effect!? I love the message of this collection – on the tube home last night my strongly coloured cheeks and unusual eyes garnered more than a few looks, but I think it’s important that we all feel confident with how we choose to express ourselves and try not to judge others for the way they choose to – whether they prefer to stick to a nude lip and slick of mascara or want to sport the speckled eye all day long!
The products shown above are the powder blusher duo in Lover/Hussy which I adore, the new Blush Up Brush shaped to make contouring easy (and described as a push up bra for the face), nail colours in Speckle and Freckle and lipstick in Immodest which will offset my summer tan perfectly – if we ever see some sun! I really love this collection and the pieces I’m playing with, especially the brush!
