Nothing says Spring/Summer like a cold glass of iced tea, and it tastes even better when it’s homemade. There are a multitude of different flavour possibilities but this is a basic recipe that tastes amazing on it’s own, but that you can build on and experiment with. It also has the added benefit of being healthy since there’s no added sugars or preservatives.
What you’ll need:
Lemon to garnish (or use frozen in place of ice)
Liquid or Powdered Sweetener (I use Sweet Freedom or Stevia)
This really is so simple. Boil the kettle and stew a few darjeeling teabags in a jug. I use around 3 or 4 for 1 liter but you can adapt this based on your tastes and the quantity you’re making. Once the tea is brewed stir in your sweetener of choice, remove the teabags and place in the fridge to cool. Once it’s cool add your apple juice to the tea. I made my apple juice at home so I added the juice of 4 apples but a cup would do fine! I also filtered my juice to make it nice and clear. I live in a tiny apartment with a freezer that doesn’t allow me to have ice all the time, so I keep some lemon slices in the freezer which act as smaller ice cubes and also give some flavour. Taste and sweeten more if desired. Serve and enjoy!
