Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up with new releases that you forget about the gems you already have, especially when you’re a blogger and it’s part of the job description to test out the new kids on the block. Although at times Benefit can be a little overpriced (I don’t think their often excellent products need to be dressed up in pricey packaging) they have some solid gold hits. Often imitated but never quite matched in my opinion, their cheek and lip stains will always have a special place in my heart as one of the first “grown up” makeup items I dabbled with. In fact, the original Benetint really opened me up to makeup and I furiously collected more Benefit items for birthdays and Christmas and eventually got a job on one of their counters.
These days although I still wear Benetint (and Posietint) I am a real fan of peachy shades. Cha Cha Tint came out back in 2011, I just did a quick search to find out when I posted my video about it (and then remembered the lol-worthy comments telling me my hair looked like a toupee – oh YouTube!) and I’ve been making a conscious effort to dig things out that need using up before they go bad. I’ve been playing around with this recently and found myself completely falling back in love. It’s a mango coloured creamy tint that is more gel-like than Benetint and in my opinion, easier to apply. I love the staying power on cheeks and it lasts amazingly on my lips with a slick of lip balm over the top. Hot weather resistant, this is great if you’re going away and don’t want to wear full makeup but need a hint of a tint to brighten your complexion.
Have you tried Cha Cha Tint? Is there anything you’ve rediscovered recently?
