Today I was truly glad I am doing this! I have been hungry hungry hungry all day, and having a few things on my mind and no real “meals” in the house could have been a recipe for distaster, but the thought of photographing everything really does make you reconsider what you’re eating. Like I said, if I have dominos or have a crappy day, I will still photograph it, it’s not realistic to eat perfectly all the time, but at the moment I am truly focused on eating the best I possibly can so I can really have a shot at beating the PCOS and losing weight.
I had a coffee first to wake me up, then on to breakfast. I ran out of granola and greek yoghurt, both of which I was really craving, but I decided to make oatmeal/porridge instead. I made it with unsweetened almond milk and a dash of sweet freedom, which I have a video on here. I was in the mood for something other than the forest fruits I seem to have every time, and I chopped some strawberries and then added two teaspoons of desiccated coconut – BEST IDEA EVER. I washed that down with a blackcurrant tea, which is my favourite.
I was feeling fruity so I went for some white seedless grapes, a few more strawberries, and some plain almonds.
I really enjoyed my lunch! As always I was craving pizza. I don’t think anyone really understands my true love for pizza, it’s one of my favourite things and I love to make it at home. I decided if pizza was what I wanted, I would find a way. I do have a recipe for 200 cal pizza rolls here, but I didn’t have any of the wraps in, so I improvised with wholewheat rye crackers. So good! If you want a post on this let me know! I had courgette soup from yesterday that needed to be used up so I had that too.
This one was strategic! I was heading to a little presentation by the head makeup artist for BECCA cosmetics, and I knew there would be temptation. It’s always SO hard to say no to a glass of ice cold champagne when you’ve been on the tube, and there are always trays and trays of canapés being offered to you every five minutes. Even if you say no, it’s hard to keep to your word, so I refuelled beforehand with some more almonds (they really fill me up!) a banana, and some olives. I had a coffee too with almond milk.
I made it through the event without caving! I had sparkling water and was so proud of myself but also starving by the time I got out! I knew we didn’t have much in as I’d half heartedly popped into the supermarket the night before in a bit of a stressed state, next week I need to prepare better! I did my version of a ready meal and picked up an Amy’s burrito in the freezer section of Whole Foods. Amy’s is a brand I love as they have quick food but they are just frozen so they come without the nasty preservatives and chemicals. I got a bean burrito and heated it up at home with some lettuce and spinach, topping it with hot sauce. Quick, and not ideal but I really enjoyed it and ate it so quickly! I got in just before 9.30pm so I wanted to eat as soon as possible so I could digest it before bed.
I actually tracked calories today for the first time in a while just to see how my portion control was actually working out for me and how close it is to my rough calorie goal. To my surprise I wasn’t far off but I had 200 or so calories left. Treat time! I also picked up a Nakd bar in Whole Foods, one of the new (to me at least!) crunch ones, and it was lovely! They are made of raw fruit, nuts and soya and tapioca starch crunch. So so tasty and went down a treat with my cup of tea!
After yesterdays failure of a gym signup (and Virgin Active hounding me on the phone today – not impressed!) I didn’t do much in the way of exercise apart from some situps before lunch and half an hour of walking around London. Tomorrow is another day though!
