Seventeen are an underrated brand in my eyes. Their Mirror Shine Lipsticks hold their own in my makeup collection and beat out ones that cost four times as much when it comes to filling the hallowed place in my handbag, but it’s been a while since I tried out their complexion products. The new concealer, Phwoarrr Paint, promises to win the war on undereye circles so I put it to the test to see if it can really do the job as well as my beloved Benefit Erase Paste or Diorskin Nude Concealer.
At just £5.49 this is a bargain, and whilst the colour range is limited (fair is light on me but will be too dark for the more porcelain amongst us) it is only just more limited than my favourite Benefit offering and comes in a more user friendly compact with a small mirror for on the go applications. As is usual on the high street it’s disappointing not to see a shade for darker skin tones, when will the UK wake up? Colour choice aside this is a great product. The texture is quite thick and rich but the product is still creamy, though not as tacky and wet feeling as something like Erase Paste. This was actually a benefit as I didn’t feel like it was necessary to set it with a powder, although on long days or nights out I definitely would give my undereyes a quick sweep with some translucent powder.
The more dry-skinned amongst us might need some sort of hydrating primer before this and I can’t imagine it being overly kind to lines and wrinkles but given the seventeen demographic I don’t think that was their main concern. It ‘s pretty easy to blend and will leave you looking really fresh and well rested. Although it can be tempting to overdo it with concealers less is more with this one and I’m a huge fan of this applied with my fingers to warm the product and really work it into my undereye area. You can use a brush but I usually find myself smoothing it out with my fingers in the end.
