I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that coffee is one of the great loves of my life. Although recently I have been using it slightly more medicinally than usual, you really can’t beat a magazine, a coffee, and a chilled out half an hour on the sofa. When I got an email from the lovely ladies at Lexis asking if I wanted to come to London to sample the new Costa Christmas drinks, I got way more excited than I should admit if I want to retain any level of cool. It’s alright though, I think most of you know by now I am highly uncool, so yeah, I was pretty damn excited. I knew it would be a Christmas themed day, and I knew that we would be sampling the drinks, but honestly it was such a fantastic day, I have to take my hat off to them. I normally don’t post about press days or events on here and focus more on the products, but so much effort went into creating the perfect Christmas atmosphere and I had such a genuinely lovely time that I really want to share these photos with you.
Now, I know people moan that it’s too early to talk Christmas, but to that I say, hush. I’m always ready to go when it comes to Christmas. I’m not talking about the frenzied shopping, the packed high streets, or all that stuff, but the warm fuzzy feeling, good times, and the food and drink – I’ll take that any day! We had the most fun day that included christmas crafts, cookery lessons at Divertimenti, an amazing three course meal at Gauthier, a hair spruce-up at Trevor Sorbie, cocktail making and of course sampling the new drinks, speaking of which, here they are:
Gingerbread & Cream Latte – Costa espresso with steamed milk served with gingerbread flavoured syrup and topped with cream, a mini gingerbread man and a little sparkle.
Honeycomb & Cream Hot Chocolate – Costa hot chocolate with an added shot of honeycomb syrup.
White Hot Chocolate & Cream – White chocolate sauce steamed with milk and topped with cream, cherry sauce and a little sparkle.
Salted Caramel & Cream Latte – Costa espresso with steamed milk served with salted caramel flavoured syrup and topped with cream and caramel sauce.
Black Forest Hot Chocolate – Costa hot chocolate with an added shot of blackberry syrup and topped with cream, cherry sauce and a sprinkle of chocolate curls.
Hot Spiced Apple (My personal favourite) – Hot spiced apple with star anise and cinnamon stick.
All of the drinks were delicious but my absolute favourite was the Hot Spiced Apple because it’s a more acceptable version of drinking mulled wine in the day. Can we talk about the cute cups too? The apple drink will be out on October 26th and the rest will launch November 7th. A huge thanks to Costa for a wonderful day.
Do any of these catch your eye?
